One of my favorite things about staying in an Airbnb while traveling is having a kitchen — even a tiny one. After days of eating out, ordering takeaways, or relying on snacks, being able to cook something simple feels grounding. The catch? Airbnb kitchens are often minimal, so easy meals are key.
Over time, I’ve found a few go-to meals that work almost anywhere, require very few ingredients, and don’t turn cooking into a chore.
Omelette: The Ultimate Airbnb Meal
An omelette is my number one Airbnb staple. All you need are eggs and whatever extras you can find — ham, cheese, vegetables, or even leftovers from the night before. It’s quick, filling, and works for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Plus, it only requires one pan, which is ideal when kitchen equipment is limited.

Yoghurt and Müsli: Simple and Reliable
When I don’t feel like cooking at all, yoghurt and müsli save the day. Easy to find in almost any country, this combo is perfect for slow mornings or light dinners. Add fruit or honey if you want to elevate it, but it’s just as good kept simple.

Instant Noodles: Travel Comfort Food
Instant noodles might not be fancy, but they’re a lifesaver. They’re cheap, quick, and comforting after a long travel day. With hot water and a pot, you’re set — and you can always add an egg or vegetables if you’re feeling creative.

Cooking in an Airbnb doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, the simplest meals are the ones that make you feel most at home.
